So… back in 2013 I recorded my first solo album. It was a ‘filk’ concept album about a futuristic post climate disaster Earth, now known as Tierra Nova to what remains of humanity. As a now ocean planet, fish-like aliens (Pez) have invaded and have become the dominant species, asserting their own laws and religion over both the native humanity and the lizard-like aliens (Largajitas) who have colonised the more arid regions of the world.

Our protagonist is a human raised as a monk in the alien religion until he learns that there used to be a creed of humans called ‘Heroes’ who fought against invaders and thus becomes an apostate looking to revive this creed. He forms an unlikely crew with a Pirate, a Gypsy and a Beggar (the three surviving human clans) and begins his battle against the invaders.

Absolutely mad idea obviously, but that’s what happens when you’re enjoying the creative freedom of being a solo artist a bit too much. After this, I went on to record some more straight forward albums that weren’t driven by such bizarre concepts, but, as whacky as it is, I am still kind of proud of this collection of songs and since I sold out of copies of the first album, rather than re-pressing it, I’ve wanted to re-record it sounding a bit more like it does live.

So here it is. The 10th Anniversary re-recording of my debut solo album. Hope you like it. :)
